A girl I didn’t recognize approached me in the mall and said, “I haven’t seen you in ages! How have you been?” She then gave me a hug and, in a hushed voice, whispered, “I noticed two guys following you. Be careful.”
I was confused, trying to figure out who she was, but before I could ask anything, she turned and walked away quickly. My mind was spinning as I glanced around and saw the two men she’d mentioned, standing nearby.
Suddenly, my instincts kicked in. I didn’t know who the girl was or how she knew me, but I knew I had to be cautious. I hurried to my car, constantly looking over my shoulder, unsure of what was going on.
As I reached my car, I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. I locked the doors quickly, trying to calm my racing heart. My mind was still trying to piece everything together — who was that girl? How did she know about the men following me?
I looked around again, but the two men were no longer in sight. I didn’t know if they’d lost interest or if they were just waiting for the right moment.
I sat in the car for a few minutes, debating whether I should call someone or drive straight to a safer, more crowded place. The girl’s warning echoed in my mind, and I knew I couldn’t ignore it.
Taking a deep breath, I decided to drive off, but I kept my eyes on the rearview mirror, fully aware of how quickly things could change. I didn’t know who to trust, but I was more determined than ever to stay safe
